The Jackson Monument Design Project - Overview

Use the information on this page AND the written materials on the RESOURCE page to find out why Jackson is considered both a Hero and a Bum. When you have completed your research, go to the INSTRUCTION  PAGE FOR THE PROJECT
ABOUT THE MONUMENTS:
Monuments in Washington DC:

Note that most of the monuments have a water feature.

Most have quotes from the person being honored.

Many make use of marble or granite, and some use bronze (especially see the FDR monument.)

The Vietnam War memorial is unique. You may know that the war was controversial, and by the end of the fighting and American withdrawal, most Americans had turned against it. The memorial lists the names of all who died, and are arranged chronologically.

Wikipedia is a good source of information for each of the memorials, and each article has a map of its placement on or near The Mall in Washington, DC.
